Well Care and Prevention

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  Both men and women can stay healthier by regularly scheduling yearly physicals, examinations, blood work and check-ups. This is especially important as you grow older. Regular well-woman examinations and routine yearly physicals for men and women can help detect, address and prevent a variety of potential issues with proper treatment.  Our staff can assist patients with scheduling to provide ease of access and convenience.

Chronic Disease Management

You cannot change risk factors for heart disease such as family history, age, race and gender. But some risk factors that you can modify to lower your chances of a heart attack are: smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and physical inactivity. Exercise may lower your weight, your blood pressure, stress levels and increase your sense of well-being.

Uncontrolled blood sugar levels can lead to serious  problems such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, or diabetic ketoacidosis. Diabetes can also damage the vessels that supply blood to the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.  Paying attention to blood sugar control can help keep you healthy and prevent medical problems. Our doctors provide patients with complete medical management and education to improve outcomes and qulaity of life.

Osteoporosis Management

Bone density (or BMD) is used as an indirect indicator of osteoporosis and fracture risk. A bone density test is a painless procedure used to check for signs of osteoporosis. This test, also known as  DEXA, is most commonly done on bones at risk of breaking. Bone density measurements are also used to screen women for osteoporosis risk and to identify those who might benefit from measures to improve bone strength. Treatments including injections and mediation can help reduce fracture risk and reduce pain and discomfort.  DEXA scans are available in the office and only takes a few minutes.
